Dosimeter was developed to be compact pen-size device with high efficency for gamma-particle detection. Scintillation crystals have more than 10 times higher efficency than ordinary Geiger-Muller tube. Usage of modern silicon photomultipliers allows to reduce size of the device and not require high-voltage sources (only 30 volts against 200+ volts for G-M tubes or vaccuum photomultipliers)
